Fresh Peach Pie

1 cup sugar
2 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
Yellow food coloring
4 cups sliced fresh peaches
1 baked 9" pastry shell
Whipped topping


Combine the sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan.  Stir in the carbonated beverage and shimmer until thickened.  Add 1 drop of food coloring.  Mix in the peaches.  Spoon the mixture into the pastry shell and garnish with whipped topping.  Makes 6-8 servings.
